Prof. Dr. Pershotam Khatri, a renowned expert in the field of Animal and Veterinary Sciences and currently he is working as Professor and Chairman of department of Animal Reproduction, Faculty of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam. He earned the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree from Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam in 1995 as position holder and was appointed as Lecturer in 1997; during the service he completed the Masters in 1999. After an intensive selection procedure based upon GRE test and German faculty member’s panel interview, he was offered a scholarship for PhD in Veterinary Medicine in Germany under the scheme “MS / M. Phil leading to PhD Scholarships for teachers of Weaker Universities”. He started PhD in October 2007 in Clinic for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Andrology of Large and Small Animals, Justus-Liebig-University, D-35392 Giessen, Germany in supervision of Prof. Dr. Gerhard Schuler and successfully earned the PhD degree titled ‘The bovine placenta as a source and target of steroids: aspects on the role of androgens and sulfonated steroids’


Prof. Dr. Khatri is author of over 28 research papers published in reputed national and international journals. He has presented his research work in number of international conferences in several countries including Germany, Italy, Portugal and Hungary.


Prof. Dr. Pershotam Khatri has morethan 21 years teaching, research and administrative experience of holding various posts at Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam. He is a member of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) and Giessen Graduate School of Life Sciences (GGL), Germany. He is holding positions of various veterinary associations of Pakistan like Vice President of Society for Animal Reproduction, Pakistan (SARP), President of Camel Association of Pakistan (CAP), Sindh Chapter etc.


Prof. Dr. Khatri organized many national and international trainings, symposium and workshops including international trainings and workshops on “Recent concepts in Bovine Reproduction at Department of Animal Reproduction, SAU Tandojam 2006” and “International workshop and Symposium on Camel Management and Reproduction, SAU Tandojam, December 21-24, 2015”. Also at national level he organized two (2) number of World Bank assisted Sindh Agriculture Growth Project (Livestock) Artificial Insemination Training Course 2016 and 2017 at Department of Animal Reproduction, SAU Tandojam. He has honor to organize first ever Artificial Insemination training in Goats at Sindh level during December 03-05, 2018. Besides these he remained key member of various organizing committees of International conferences held at Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam, Sindh Pakistan.
