PMAS-AAUR Conducts Institutional Performance Evaluation

The Quality Enhancement Cell, PMAS-Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi conducted an Institutional Performance Evaluation, as part of the self-review external quality assurance mechanism of Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. The self review was conducted at main university campus from 25-27 June, 2018. The review panel was consisted of one external evaluator and three internal evaluators.

 

Dr. Saeed-ul-Hassan Chishti, Director-QEC/Director IPD from International Islamic University, Islamabad facilitated the evaluation as external evaluator.

 

Internal Evaluators included Prof. Dr. Mazhar Qayyum, Director QEC, Prof. Dr. Abdul Saboor, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Dr. Muhammad Azam Khan, Director Advanced Studies, PMAS-AAUR.

 

The purpose of the three days activity was to review the overall PMAS-AAUR performance compliance with the HEC's given specific 11 standards/dimensions for institutional quality.

 

The review panel first met the Prof Dr. Sarwat N. Mirza, Vice Chancellor, on the occasion Vice Chancellor apprised the review panel about the various programs offered by the university in order to strengthen the research output and also briefed the review panel about the academic, research and developmental progress of the university.

 

After the presentation, the evaluators followed up on the evidences prepared by the Quality Enhancement Cell for Institutional Performance Evaluation. The evaluators went through all the eleven (11) standards of IPE. The review panel also convened the meetings with the Deans of the Faculties, Chairmen of the Departments, and Faculty Members separately.

 

They also met the Registrar, Director Planning & Development, Director ORIC, Controller of Examinations, Treasurer, and Director Procurement. This was followed by individual interviews to clarify any questions regarding the evidences provided by their respective departments.

 

The evaluators met the students from every Postgraduate, Graduate and Under-graduate program at different departments of PMAS-AAUR. Students discussed their concerns and shared the insights of the various programs with the evaluators in an open group discussion.

 

Later the review panel visited the classrooms, labs and library to see the sufficiency of research and support facilities and services at PMAS-AAUR. Finally, the Review Panel shared their observations with Prof. Dr Sarwat N. Mirza, Vice Chancellor and Director QEC in exit meeting. They appreciated the efforts of the QEC to have managed the review visit.
