Introduction
The Research group “Mammalian Ecology and Conservation” is headed by Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Associate Professor (Tenured). The research group was established in 2010, with the aim to investigate the ecological parameters of the mammalian species of Pakistan for their conservation.
Some of the major animal Species being focused:
Indian pangolin (Manis crassicaudata), Common leopard (Panthera pardus), Grey wolf (Canis lupus), Red fox (Vulpes vulpes), Asiatic Jackal (Canis aureus), Black bear (Ursus thibetanus), Brown bear (Ursus arctos), Leopard cat
(Prionailurus bengalensis), Small Indian civet (Viverricula indica), Asian palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus), Small Indian mongoose (Urva auropunctatus), Grey mongoose (Herpestes edwardsii).
