The Faculty of Basic Sciences became the Inter-faculty Basketball Championship after beating University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT) by the score of 46-42 in the final match, at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), here on Tuesday. 

Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR was the chief guest on the occasion. He congratulated the winner of the championship and distributed prizes/certificates among the players. 

The winners enjoyed an edge over their opponents’ right from the start and led 12-7 at first quarter. Prolific scorer Muhammad Mohsin was the backbone of his team’s triumph contributing 20 points. He was ably supported by ZabhiUllah 14. Wahaj of University Institute of Information Technology team played very well and was the top contributor with 18 baskets.

The three days Championship was organized by Directorate of Sports and eight teams including faculty of Agriculture, faculty of Sciences, faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University Institute of Information Technology, University Institute of Management Sciences, Barani Institute of Information Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Faculty of forestry & Wildlife Management participated in the championship.

A large number of students and faculty members were also present on their respective faculty teams matches and enjoyed the game and hoped that such event would be organized in future as well.
