Bilingual Declamation Contest Held at PMAS-AAUR

Inter-faculty Bilingual Declamation Contest held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on December 18, 2014, which is an annual feature of the university’s co-curricular activities.

 

On the occasion Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR was the chief guest. The event was organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs and more than 30 students from different faculties/institutes participated.

 

The chief guest Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR, while addressing, highlighted the importance of such competitions for the promotion of healthy activities among the students and said that declamations, debates and discussions provided the students an effective forum for enlightenment of mind and grooming of leadership qualities in them. He said youth comprised the major portion of the demography in Pakistan. We shall educate the youth’s role towards a peaceful and tolerant society in an elaborate manner. It is very important to equip them with all necessary tools and public speaking is one of them specially in an environment which is becoming more and more competitive and challenging. He appreciated all the teachers and students who made this event successful. In the end the chief guest distributed certificates and shields among the participants of the declamation contest

 

In English Declamation Syed Danial Hashmi (Student of University Institute of Management Sciences) secured 1st position Muhammad Waheed (Student of University Institute of Information Technology) came second and Tayyaba Noor (Student of  Faculty of Agriculture) stood 3rd position.

 

In Urdu Declamation Shifa Waseem (student of Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences)  secured 1st position Hafsa Sultan (student of University Institute of Information Technology) came 2nd and Musa Hassan ( student of University Institute of Management Sciences)  stood 3rd position.

 

Mr. Mussart Riaz, Lecturer Postgraduate Degree College for Women Rawalpindi, Dr. Javed Anjum, Assistant Professor, Govt Degree College for Boys Rawalpindi and Mr. Yasir Iqbal, Assistant Professor PMAS-AAUR were the judges on the occasion.
