Superintendent Police, Choudhary Muhammad Yousaf visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), on March 31, 2016 and delivered a lecture to bring further improvement in security arrangements. On the occasion, University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, faculty members and security guards were also present.
While delivering lecture, SP Choudhary Muhammad Yousaf said that the existing complex law and order situation demands sound security arrangements from any organization that reflects the sense of extreme care and protection of its personnel. He said that monitoring of security arrangements should be ensured on daily basis and gave security tips to the faculty and security guards of the institute.
He directed the University administration to keep one gate for entry & exit and ensure complete verification of those working as security guards, canteen staffers, students and those giving pick and drop service. He asked the official of security to install CCTV cameras within University premises and height of boundary walls should be at least 8 feet.
He asked the students to keep an eye on suspicious activities and strangers around them. He also asked them to avoid gathering outside their institute and immediately leave for their home after university closure.
Earlier, PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad gave a brief detailed presentation regarding security measure taken by University and said that within available resources the PMAS-AAUR has an effective and vigilant security system on the campus to provide secure and safe environment to our valuable students, staff and faculty members.
He said that no compromise would be made on the security arrangements at campus and CCTV cameras have already been installed in campus as well as height of boundary walls is also 8 feet.
He said that there is a need of unity, peace, harmony and tolerance in Pakistan and special lectures and seminars about these golden principles of Islam should be arranged in educational institutions particularly in universities.
