An event to commemorate the four (4) years of successful journey of PEEF scholarship program was organized on 5th March, 2013 in CM Secretariat Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam, Lahore. The Honorable Chief Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was the Chief Guest. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Director SRC Waqas Ahmed Chaudhry and PEEF Ambassadors of PMAS – Arid Agriculture University attended this event.
The Honorable Chief Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif (Chairman, Punjab Education Endowment Fund) addressed the participants that PEEF Scholarship opportunities will be continued in future. These scholarships will also expand for the other provinces of Pakistan. He increased the scholarship quota for Balochistan Province. Punjab Education Endowment Fund of Rs. 10 billion has financed the studies (from Secondary to Masters Level) of almost 50,000 students from all across Pakistan on merit basis. “PEEF is the very first Project that I launched right after becoming Khadim-e-Punjab.” The Chief Minister expressed that I am proud to see my shining stars sitting infront of me who have done Bachelors and Masters degrees from renowned foreign and Pakistani Universities with the financial support of PEEF.
Ms. Maleeha Jabeen, student of M.Sc Environmental Sciences & Scholar of PEEF of PMAS – Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi presented a memorable souvenir to the Chief Minister Punjab. This memorable souvenir was signed by PEEF Scholarship awardees.
Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz, Vice Chancellor Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi shared his views about Academic & Research Activities, Scholarship Programs with the Senior Parliamentarians and Vice Chancellors in informal discussion.
In the last, Director SRC and PEEF Scholars thanked the Vice Chancellor, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi for encouraging the students with his presence in this event.
