A Regional Level Bilingual Declamation Contest held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah, Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi on 28th Dec 2017.
The contest aimed at promoting the positive attitude among the young minds and to address the major challenges been faced by Pakistan in order to ensure the national integrity towards the beloved country.
The declamation competition was organized by Aridian Debating Club and Pakistan Debating Society in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs PMAS-AAUR. As far as around 15 Universities and Colleges from Rawalpindi division had participated in the competition which was attended by a large number of students.
Prof. Dr Sarwat N Mirza, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR was the chief guest while Prof. Dr Khalid Saifullah, Director Student Affairs was the guest of honor at the prize distribution ceremony.
Khadija Inam from NUST and Syeda Dua e Zahra from International Islamic University clinched the Regional Titles Shield in English and Urdu categories respectively. In English category Muhammad Bin Khalid from Roots Millennium International College and Sania from UET won the second position. Arbaz Khan and Noor Fatima from Arid Agriculture- Attock Campus and Abdul Mateen from UET, Taxila obtained the 3rd positions.
Prof. Dr Sarwat N Mirza, Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR congratulated the winners while addressing to prize distribution ceremony said that declamation contests enhance the analytical and critical thinking abilities of the students and such activities are organized to develop the potential and explore hidden talents of the students.
He urged the youth to promote the positive attitude and forge optimism and said, "These competitions create a spirit to come forward and work hard for the national growth and social uplift."
At the end of event cash prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and organizers.
