Arid Varsity Ranked 12th among Pakistani Universities in the University Impact Rankings 2020 by Times Higher Education

Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) is ranked 12 th in the overall and 3 rd in Agriculture and Forestry among Pakistani Universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Universities Impact Rankings 2020. THE being most influential university ranking agency, measured the broader impact of the universities as key players in demand based research, leadership, and sustainable development. Globally, 766 universities from 85 countries are assessed against 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN in 2015 demonstrating services rendered by Higher Education institutions at the community level, delivering equitable quality education, achieving sustainable environment and establishing gender equality. This year 23 universities of Pakistan qualified and appeared in the ranking, which included University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, COMSATS University, NUST, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, King Edward Medical University, University of Lahore, University of Malakand, University of management and Technology, University of Peshawar, PMAS- arid Agriculture University, CECOS University of IT and Emerging Sciences, Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, Dow University of Health Sciences, University of Education Lahore, UET Lahore, GC University Lahore, Iqra University, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Quaid-i-Azam University, University of Sargodha and The Women University Multan.

Placing 12 th in overall ranking in Pakistan, 3rd among Agriculture and Forestry affirms the University's strong assurance to sustainable development and demonstrating significant social impact in terms of its public-private partnerships, demand-based research, quality teaching, sustainable operations, community commitment, and industry linkages. Furthermore, THE impact rankings also acknowledge the contribution and rapid progress of PMAS-AAUR towards "No Poverty" (SDG 1, Ranked 101-200 in the overall world ranking and 3rd in Pakistani Universities), "Zero Hunger" (SDG 2, Ranked 101-200 in the overall world ranking and 3rd in Pakistani Universities), "Affordable and clean energy"(SDG 7, Ranked 101-200 in global overall ranking and 4th in Pakistani Universities) and "Partnerships for the goals" (SDG 17, Ranked 401-600 in global overall ranking and 17th in Pakistani Universities).
