Academic Guidelines for Enrolled UIIT Students |
1. Enrollment Policy
- At the beginning of each semester, every student must enroll in the prescribed courses using the official enrollment form.
- Enrollment shall not be considered complete unless the student submits the prescribed form and pays all required fees.
- A student will not be allowed to sit in the semester examination unless all dues are cleared. A student may enroll in a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 21 credit hours as per HEC undergraduate
policy.
- Enrollment and fee payment must be completed within the notified dates. However, in special circumstances and with the payment of a late fee, the concerned authority may allow enrollment
withinseven (07) days after the commencement of the semester.
- A student admitted to the program must enroll in every semester until all degree requirements are
completed. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of admission unless prior permission for
discontinuation is obtained.
- Once a student is admitted to the Morning or Afternoon shift, he/she must remain in the same shift
throughout the degree program and is not allowed to change the shift as per University policy.
- The respective department must cancel the registration of ceased students on CMS immediately after
the results are declared by the Controller of Examinations.

2. Promotion & Academic Progression
- A student who maintains the minimum required CGPA and fulfills all program requirements will be
promoted to the next semester.
- If a student fails to maintain the required CGPA, he/she will be ceased from the University rolls. The
ceased period will not be counted toward the academic residency period.
- A student who does not meet the promotion requirements may repeat the entire semester with the same
courses (only once during the degree program). The grades earned in the repeated semester will replace
the previously earned grades.
- If a student is ceased for the second time, he/she will be permanently ceased and will not be eligible for
further enrollment in any case.

3. Attendance Policy
- Students are expected to maintain 100% attendance.
- In cases of genuine emergencies, sickness, or illness, up to 25% leave may be availed.
- However, attendance must not fall below 75% under any circumstances.

4. Examination Policy
4.1. Datesheet & Schedule
- The examination datesheet will be displayed in advance.
- Examinations will be conducted strictly according to the notified schedule.
4.2. Examination Requirements
- Students must arrive at the examination hall at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam.
- Students must sit according to the assigned seating plan.
- Displaying the student ID card during the examination is mandatory.
4.3. Prohibited Items & Discipline
- Mobile phones and all electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the examination hall.
- Smart gadgets are not allowed.
- Exchanging calculators, stationery, or any other materials during the examination is strictly prohibited.
- Any case of cheating or possession of unauthorized devices will be reported immediately to the
administration.
- Cheating may result in disqualification for up to three (03) years.

5. Academic Conduct & Professional Development
- Respect for teachers, parents, and the institution is expected at all times.
- Students are encouraged to set clear academic and professional goals and work consistently to achieve
them.
- The curriculum is designed according to HEC guidelines and follows an Outcome-Based Education
(OBE) approach aligned with the needs of the software industry.
- Students should focus not only on technical knowledge but also on soft skills, professionalism, ethics,
and teamwork.
- Mid-Term and Final Term Examinations will be conducted as per the University Academic Calendar,
Insha'Allah.
- Students must take their term projects seriously, follow the guidance of their teachers, and ensure
timely submission of quizzes, assignments, and project work.

Admission Guidelines for Newly Admitted Students
(BSCS BETI &BET Cyber Security Degree Programs)

It is hereby notified for the information of all applicants seeking admission to the
undergraduate degree programs (BSCS, BETI, BET Cyber Security) that admission is
granted on a purely provisional basis. Final confirmation of admission shall be subject to
fulfillment and verification of the following requirements within the prescribed time.

1. Academic Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/A-
Levels (involving a minimum of 12 years of schooling) or an IBCC-equivalent
qualification with at least 50% marks.
- Studying Mathematics at the Intermediate level is the basic eligibility requirement for
admission to all BS Computer Science programs.
- Students who have not studied Mathematics at the Intermediate level are required to
pass deficiency courses in Mathematics (06 credit hours) during the first year of their
degree program.
- The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in Intermediate (Part-I) in one of
the following streams:
- Pre-Engineering
- Pre-Medical
- ICS
- DAE
- Or an equivalent qualification recognized by IBCC.
- Final admission confirmation will be granted only after successful completion of the
Intermediate (Part-II) examination and submission of the final result card/certificate.
- A candidate who has failed in any subject at the Intermediate level shall not be
eligible for admission to any offered program.
- Once a student is admitted to the Morning or Afternoon shift, he/she must remain in
the same shift throughout the degree program and is not allowed to change the shift as
per University policy.
- The University reserves the right to cancel admission at any stage if any discrepancy
is found in the academic credentials.

2. Document Submission & Verification
- The candidate must personally visit the Admission Office for verification.
- All original identification and academic documents must be presented.
- A complete set of attested photocopies of all required documents must be submitted.
- A duly signed affidavit on the prescribed format must also be attached with the
documents.
- Submission of false information or forged documents will result in immediate
cancellation of admission and further action as per University rules.

3. Compliance & Deadline
All requirements must be fulfilled within the notified deadline. Failure to comply within the
stipulated time shall result in automatic cancellation of provisional admission without further
notice.
